The Kentucky Career Center - Cumberlands invites you to be part of our first ever Virtual Job Fair to be held Aug 20, 2020, 10 am - 2 pm ET. This will be a first of its kind job fair where job seekers can visit a special page on our website with virtual “booths” set up to promote your businesses' hiring needs. (See example booth on website registration page). This is limited to the first 75 employers to sign up on our online form below.
While a virtual job fair will be a different experience from a traditional fair, we will strive for the same momentum and excitement generated by a single day, concentrated employment gathering. We will widely promote the fair through social and traditional media in the week leading up to the event.
We want to get job seekers engaging with employers, just like at a traditional job fair. All businesses will be displayed on a single, long scroll page (think Pinterest or Facebook). All booths will be similar in size and visual design. It is up to a visitor to engage with an employer (just like a traditional fair), but through a phone call, website visit, or email.
How will it work?
First, participating employers will need to fill out the “booth” information online form:
https://cumberlandsworkforce.com/vjf-employer-registration
Booth size is limited to one company logo or graphic. Company description is limited to 80 words. You can list one telephone number, one webpage link, and one email address.
On the day and time of the fair, the webpage page will be turned on. Job seekers will need to sign in to access the page of booths, where, like at a traditional fair, visitors can peruse the various booths at their leisure. It will be the responsibility of the employers to be available to receive calls (if a phone number is provided). At the end of the job fair, this page will be turned off.
During the day, the Kentucky Career Center - Cumberlands will do live promotion of the event through social and traditional media.
This is a first for us, and details are still being worked out, but we feel confident this virtual job fair will be a much-needed tool for both employers and potential employees during these unprecedented times.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the online form and submit. If you have further questions, please feel free to respond to me personally.
We are trying something new! This will be the Kentucky Career Center - Cumberlands first Virtual Job Fair. To keep it simple, Employers will have Virtual Booths on our Job Fair Gallery page. Please use the form below to build your booth.
For more on how it works, read here.
It is up to you as to how you want job seekers to interact with you during the fair. We encourage you to provide a phone number and be available to take calls during the fair. You can also provide a weblink to an employment page on your website, list an email for interested parties to contact you, or even provide a link to a Zoom meeting to interact in real-time.
Our VJF Gallery will have the options of filtering booths by business category and by county. Here is a mock-up of how the gallery will look:
This is the first Virtual Job Fair presented by the Kentucky Career Center - Cumberlands. There is no fee or obligation to participate. After registering below, you will be taken to a webpage gallery of employers currently in need of employees. These businesses are standing by to take your call. Some have chosen to list an email address and/or an employment web link where you can enquire about employment opportunities.
Please be patient. If a business's phone is busy, wait a minute and try again.
Check our Facebook page for updates on the Job Fair.
