Nurse and child in hospital corridor

For people who aspire to work in health care but are uninterested in or unable to attend medical school, there are plenty of well-paid career alternatives to becoming a physician. Many, though not all, still require graduate degrees, but the programs have shorter durations and often lower overall costs. Best of all, over the next seven years, demand for workers to fill these jobs is predicted to exceed that for physicians.

UPS LOOP logo

UPS needs employees, and they are willing to pay for college tuition and housing to get them! The program, called Kentucky LOOP (Living Options and Opportunites Path), can cover tuition at Jefferson Community and Technical College and the cost of housing during the college years. This is a great way to graduate from college with an associates degree "debt-free."

Requirements are UPS employment at Next Day Air (night) for 100% tuition, semester and graduation bonuses and book reimbursement or employment at Second Day Air (day) with $5250 annual tuition and books.

The UPS Kentucky LOOP program is only open to Kentucky residents who have confirmed and validated residency in a Kentucky county other than Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Spencer, Henry, Meade, Shelby and Trimble counties.  Learn more from this UPS Kentucky LOOP fact sheet.
