The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, allocated Coronavirus Relief Fund dollars from the U.S. Treasury for emergency rental assistance. The purpose of this assistance is to prevent evictions and keep Kentucky renters housed as well as allow landlords to get substantial payments for back rent.
Eligible applicants are Kentucky renters who meet income restrictions, are impacted by the pandemic, and can provide documentation. Landlords must provide documentation, agree to program terms, and forgive fees/penalties.
Amount of Assistance
- 100% of past due rent owed since April 1, 2020 + up to 3 months future rent.
- 100% of past-due utilities owed since April 1, 2020 + up to 3 months future utilities.
